Deborah Golden Alecson and Lawrence Bronstein have created CHILD Treatment and Consulting Services to educate local families about the treatments and approaches utilized in the integrative healthcare model, and to empower them with the knowledge to choose.
Ms. Alecson, M.S. is a special educator, early interventionist and author of, Alternative Treatments for Children Within the Autism Spectrum (Keats Publishing, 1999). In addition to Dr. Bronstein’s practice as a chiropractor, he is also a Certified Nutritional Specialist, Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Nutrition, certified BioSETTM(http://www.bioset.net/) practitioner and certified in applied kinesiology(http://www.icak.com/).
Services available are home, center, and office based, and include special instruction for challenged learners, early intervention, ABA (applied behavioral analysis, http://rsaffran.tripod.com/whatisaba.html) for young children on the spectrum, developmental reports, assessment for autism spectrum disorder, and classroom observations. Ms. Alecson acts as a liaison between the family and the school, as well as offering family/care-giver support and advocacy. Dr. Bronstein offers chiropractic, dietary and nutritional counseling, enzyme therapy, applied kinesiology and BioSET health system for allergy support. Our approach and involvement in a child’s care augments, but does not replace, standard and appropriate pediatric and medical evaluation and care.
We also offer consultations to determine the need for further diagnostics and treatments, as well as to provide referrals to medical practitioners, occupational, physical and speech therapists, vision specialists, and other allied health care providers.
Whatever the specific diagnosis, the biomedical approach initially involves trying to determine whether the child has health issues related to deficiencies and/or need for specific essential vitamins and minerals, gastrointestinal problems, high levels of heavy metals and other environmental toxins, food sensitivities and allergies and any other related health issues that may impact autism, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, developmental delays, allergies, asthma and other chronic conditions.
Healthcare providers trained in this model, approach autism spectrum disorders and other chronic health and behavioral conditions by addressing these biomedical issues from an integrative perspective augmenting concurrent traditional and appropriate medical care. This site is under construction and will have more content soon.
